25th Anniversary of the Movie Selena Hits Theatres On April 7th

Selena is the movie that made Jennifer Lopez into the ICON that she is now! (She just received the iHeartRadio Icon Award at our iHeartRadio Music Awards). The movie certainly changed my life! I'm a lifelong Selena Quintanilla-Perez fan. If you're not familiar, Selena was shot to death by her fan club president on March 31, 1995. She and her family had gained great success as Mexican-Americans in the Tejano music scene. She even won a Grammy. Her dream was to cross over into the English market and her album was in the process of being recorded when she was killed. Her fan club president, Yolanda Saldivar, was, also, a business manager for her fashion boutiques and was accused of embezzling money.

A movie about Selena's life came out in 1997 and is celebrating its 25th anniversary!

Selena is a legend and icon and you can see the movie about her life on April 7th at Jordan Creek! See you there!
