Monday Motivation Minute: Fall Foods That Are Super Healthy

This time of the year, the narrative seems to be, "bring on the weight gain and the bad foods!" It doesn't have to be that way. Embrace the flavors of Fall and all the benefits of foods that are in-season this Fall. For instance, pumpkin puree. Yeah, add in sugar and sweetened evaporated milk and you have a very unhealthy piece of pumpkin pie. Pumpkin is actually very nutrient rich. Add that same pumpkin puree that you would put in your pies into your smoothies for a flavorful burst of health!

Apples!!!! This is their time to shine. You know what they say, "an apple a day, keeps the doctor away." Well, at least, they are so full of fiber, they keep you full, so you don't want to pick at all that leftover Halloween candy. They are a huge help in weight loss.

Squash! I'm excited to try some of the many squash recipes that exist in the world. Squash is a very nutrient-rich food.

Brussel Sprouts. I've never been a huge fan of these guys. However, have you ever had a brussel sprout in an air fryer with a little balsamic reduction? Yum. Warning, i've brought the with me to work and wow, they can really stink up a radio studio!

What are your favorite healthy Fall foods?
