A 24 year old New Jersey man is facing animal neglect charges in Des Moines. On Thursday, the man was told he couldn't fly with his dog if the dog didn't have a kennel. He left the Allegiant terminal and returned a short time later without the dog and boarded his flight.
The dog was found tied up outside the airport, abandoned. The Animal Rescue League took the dog in and renamed her "Allie." They say she's very sweet and they have had many people offer to adopt her.
The New Jersey man is facing animal neglect and abandonment charges levied on him by the Des Moines Police Department.
The ARL will put "Allie" up for adoption after she is microchipped, spayed and checked out by a vet.
