Kanye West Makes Public Statement Asking For A Meeting With Bob Dylan

Kanye West has seemingly set his sights on a collaboration with the Bob Dylan.

The "I Love It" rapper asked for a meeting with the legendary folk singer on Twitter Wednesday (December 12). "Calling out to Bob Dylan," he wrote. "Let’s get together." While it's unclear why Kanye is requesting to meet with the Novel Prize-winning artist, it might have something to do with Ye's upcoming Yandhi album. (Or it might be something completely unrelated 'cause you know, you never really know with Kanye.)

Ye has clearly done his research on the 77-year-old artist since 2007 when he admitted he didn't really know much about Bob's music but was interested in learning about his artistry after a friend of his compared him to the legend. "Man, a couple of people have played me some tracks," 'Ye told Rolling Stone when asked about Dylan's work. "Samantha Ronson was like, 'Yo, certain sh*t that you do reminds me of this guy.' Not only the music but the way I’ve dealt with the press. I need to get more into it."

It would only seem right that Ye is reaching out to Bob to have some type of hand on Yandhi, which he's been working on for the latter half of the year. Last month, the "Lift Yourself" rapper announced that he was ditching the album's November 23 release date, marking the second time he's pushed the project back, saying he still had more work to do with it. "I realize the new album I’ve been working on isn’t ready yet. I’ll announce the release date once it’s done," he wrote on Twitter.

Ye first pushed the project back in October, after it was originally scheduled to drop on September 29, saying he didn't finish it in time and wanted to travel to Africa and draw inspiration from the motherland.

Hopefully, Bob is the last missing piece for the project.
