Jenelle Evans Is Seeking Full Custody Of Daughter Amid David Eason Divorce

Days after announcing her split, Jenelle Evans is reportedly seeking full custody of her daughter with soon-to-be ex-husband David Eason.

According to TMZ, the Teen Mom star intends to fight to keep their two-year-old baby girl, Ensley, in her care should the pair go to court. What’s more, Evans is supposedly leaning on the defense that she is the more suitable parent the two given Eason’s troubled past. This, as fans know, includes the tragedy Eason caused back in May when it was alleged he had killed their family dog, Nugget, after the pet supposedly attacked their daughter.

In a statement posted to Instagram on Thursday (October 31), Evans revealed: “The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together, but you’ll hear from us again soon.”

After months of speculation, the 31-year-old finally admitted to killing Nugget in an interview with PEOPLE in September, claiming he did so after the dog became aggressive when it snapped at Ensley. The controversy led to Evans being dropped from the hit MTV reality television show and both parents temporarily lost custody of their three children — including her son Kaiser, 5, and Eason’s son Kaden, 5 — before they were reunited in July.

Since announcing her breakup, TMZ reported that Evans is attempting to return to Teen Mom. This aligns with earlier reports which indicated she was awaiting the network’s call about her future on the show.
