Susan G.KomenGreater Iowa will be holding their virtual MORE THAN PINK Walk on Saturday, October 24th. Due to safety concerns from COVID-19, this event was moved to a virtual format.
While walkers cannot gather in person, the virtual walk still boasts the same mission. The money raised helps directly fund lifesaving research, direct services, and resources for breast cancer patients in Greater Iowa. Breast cancer has not stopped during the pandemic and neither can Susan G. Komen's mission.
On Walk Day, Saturday, October 24th, a virtual warm up by Krave Gym will be streamed on Susan G.KomenGreater Iowa's Facebook page at 9:55. This will be followed by a virtual opening ceremony at 10 AM. At 10:20 AM, participants will run or walk a 5k (3.1 miles). They are encouraged to do this in their neighborhood with their family or small team. Racers can track their steps and register them on the MORE THAN PINK Walk app.
