Take a stand against violence in our community at Guns Down, Gloves Up. It takes all of us to fight violence in our community. Gloves up! Join community leaders and activists in the Des Moines community for an afternoon of community activism. Bring the entire family to Waterworks Park on Saturday, May 15 and let it be known that enough is enough! There will be food, free haircuts for the kids, giveaways, music and a balloon release. Guns Down, Gloves Up runs from 2pm until 8pm. Water Works Park is located at 2201 George Flagg Parkways in Des Moines.
