Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Arrived Fashionably Late To The Met Gala

Better late than never.

On Monday (September 13), the MET Gala returned after a two-year hiatus due to the ongoing pandemic. While many of the guests wore stunning ensembles—I mean, did you see Billie Eilish's gown?—there was one celebrity viewers were most excited to see walk the red carpet: Rihanna.

Over the past several years, Rihanna has established herself as the Queen of the MET Gala. The Fenty Beauty founder always understands the assignment and never disappoints with her elaborate ensembles. This year, though, Rihanna showed up fashionably late to the event alongside her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, and missed Vogue's live stream.

While fans were disappointed that they didn't get to glimpse Rihanna's entrance on the live stream, photos of her eye-catching black gown are now available. The 'Love on the Brain' singer's ruffled dress was from Balenciaga, which she paired with a beanie and 267 carats worth of Bulgari diamonds.

A$AP Rocky, meanwhile, debuted two looks on the carpet. The first was a colorful quilt-like cape designed by ERL, which he then removed to reveal a dapper tux that coordinated with Rihanna's gown.

Here's a look at both Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's looks from the MET Gala:

Making their grand, last-minute entrance even more special, the 2021 Met Gala is the first event the pair have attended as a couple. Since news of their romance first broke in November 2020, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye. Just a few short months before their MET Gala debut, however, the 'Praise the Lord' rapper gushed about his girlfriend to GQ. “[It’s] so much better when you got the one,” he said. “She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. I think when you know, you know. She’s the one.”
