Taylor Swift is speaking out following a tragic mass stabbing incident in the United Kingdom that left three young children dead.

Three children were killed in a horrific attack at a Swift-themed dance and yoga class in the small English coastal town of Southport on Monday (July 29). A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, and authorities seized a knife after the attack, CBS News reports.

Following the attack, the Midnights musician took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share an emotional message reflecting on tragic loss of life and the enduring trauma survivors will now face as a result.

"The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I'm just completely in shock," she said. "The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders."

She continued, "These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families."

Two young girls ages 6 and 7 died during the attack on Monday while Merseyside Police confirmed Tuesday that a 9-year-old girl died at a hospital as a result of her injures. Five other children plus two adults are still hospitalized in critical condition. Their identities have not been been revealed.
