Nicole Richie and Good Charlotte's Joel Madden have been married for 14 years, but it wasn't until after they tied that knot that Richie admitted to a lie that she told Madden when they first started dating.

During her appearance on "Call Her Daddy," Nicole explained that when she and Joel first started dating, he would invite her over to his house to watch The Wire, and had asked her if she had ever watched the HBO series. Lying, Richie said it was her "favorite show," and didn't own up to the fib until after they had kids.

Nicole remembered, "Never seen The Wire in my life. I go, 'The Wire is my favorite show.' Obviously, The Wire is an amazing show. I’m not dissing The Wire, but OK, I’m a girl. He just, like, threw me into season 3. There’s no music. And I, for a very long time, pretended, like, I watched and loved The Wire."

Convinced Nicole was as big a fan of The Wire as Joel was, the couple got married in 2010 after four years of dating. They share two children together, a daughter, Harlow, (16) and son, Sparrow (15).

Richie recently reunited with Paris HIlton after over two decades after their show The Simple Life debuted for the three-episode "Paris & Nicole: The Encore," which is streaming on Peacock.
