I just got back from my first ever cruise! There is a LOT to share from it, but I'm starting with the day that I was most looking forward to: A day in Havana, Cuba.
Not going to lie to you- I had seen all of the photos on Instagram that looked so fun and like a travel back in time, that my curiosity for the country that was forbidden for so long grew in a major way. I couldn't wait to go. I was a little disappointed I'd only have a day, but I planned on walking around as much of the city as I could and making the most of it.
I was not prepared for how it was. Yes, the cars were colorful and old, but much of the city looked like a tornado had run through it over and over again and the people just lived in the remains. It was extreme poverty... which I should have known and expected had I really thought about it instead of looking at pics from bloggers... but I didn't.
Below are some of the pictures I took... of both the pretty cars and buildings, but also the sad parts.
In the "travel" highlight of my Instagram profile you'll also see things like puppies for sale in carts on the street corners and kids playing ball games.
