The MagicBand+ Is Coming To Disneyland At The End Of The Year

The time is finally here as the MagicBand+ is coming to the Disneyland Resort later this year.

What is a MagicBand+? Well it's a wearable device that has LEDs and other technology built into the band to allow guests to pair the band to their phone so they can use it to enter the park, customize the bands light colors, play exclusive games in the park and more. The band is rechargeable and will come to life during "World of Color" and "Fantasmic" during select nighttime shows at the parks. There will be a new interactive game in Galaxy's Edge where guests can use the band to go on a quest to collect bounties within the land.

“Vibrations and lights from your MagicBand+ will help guide you to find virtual bounties,” Disneyland said in a news release. “When you find your bounty, you can use the augmented reality thermal viewer in the Play Disney Parks app to reveal who’s hiding in the shadows. Once your mission is successfully completed, local guild master Raga Bua will reward you with galactic credits.”

Below is how you can use the MagicBand+:

  • enter Disneyland or Disney California Adventure park (with a valid ticket and reservation)
  • check into the Lightning Lane entrances (with purchase of Genie+ or individual Lightning Lane)
  • link the Disney PhotoPass to your Disney Account
  • play interactive games within the park such as search for virtual bounties n Galaxy's Edge
  • band with sync during the nighttime spectaculars at the resort

Pricing for the band starts at $34.99 and you can purchase it at the Disneyland Resort in the fall. Head to DapsMagic or KTLA 5 for more.
