Students Develop Edible Tape To Help Make Burritos Easier To Eat

Keeping a burrito together is like trying to keep your life together when things go south. Some engineering students at John Hopkins have found a way to keep your burrito together and hopefully it sticks.

Last fall, a product design course made students come up with a creative invention that could be useful for everyday life. Shoutout to the females because an all girls team came up with a way to help prevent a burrito from falling apart. The team consisted of Tyler Guarino, Rachel Nie, Marie Eric and Erin Walsh and their idea was edible tape that you can use to keep all the ingredients of the burrito inside the tortilla.

The girls came up with the name, Tastee Tape, and describe the product as being similar to Scotch tape. It is a two-inch by half-inch rectangles on wax paper sheets and you simply peel it off the sheet, wet it to activate and then apply it to your tortilla. They are currently working on getting a patent for the product and if it is approved it could be a game changer for burritos and other foods that are wrapped. Click here for more.
