Nelly visited kids at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis on Thursday. He said, "Some of these kids around here are having a tough time this time of the year, if I can make somebody smile, take their mind of it, then it's worth it." Earlier in the week, he did the same for children at a children's hospital in Charlotte. He brought the children in the hospital in St. Louis 100 presents that he passed out. He's lost several family members to cancer, including his beloved sister, Jackie.
His visit to the hospital in Charlotte was in partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that he supports with an annual formal event in his native St. Louis.
Every year, in St. Louis, Nelly hosts a formal gala and gives away scholarships to a student to attend Lindenwood University in the St. Louis area. Here is a clip of the fun had by Nelly and his crew at the Black & White Ball in 2008. Pardon the bad film quality - it WAS 10 years ago!
