Cinco De Mayo commemorates the Mexican Army's victory over the French Republic at the Battle of Puebla. For most Americans, it is observed with the consumtion of margaritas and tacos! It's a great excuse to have a fiesta! It's on of my very favorite holidays and in Des Moines, this year, we kick off Cinco De Mayo weekend with Cardi B!!!!
Sunday is technically Cinco De Mayo, but there are celebrations all weekend. And many restaurants are offering deals.

Chipotle is offering free delivery with Door Dash
Taco John's is starting early and offering five beef tacos for $5.55 through Sunday
Chili's is offering a Cinco De Mayo Special, too. $5 margaritas and draft beers.
Applebee's is celebrating Cinco De Mayo all month, their $1 drink for May is the Dollarita.
Celebrate Cinco De Mayo in Historic Valley Junction. Enjoy the festival from 12pm until 10pm on Saturday (yeah, quatro de Mayo).
