Lizzo was raised in Houston, but, obviously, in listening to "Truth Hurts" there is a Minneapolis connection. Her record label, Atlantic Records, kept telling me that she was from Minneapolis. And I was like, "are you sure about that? I thought she was from Houston." So. . . here is the Minneapolis connection. Lizzo joined a band in Houston. The rock band wasn't working. Nothing seemed to be working, she wasn't happy. In 2011, she received a message from someone in Minneapolis asking her to join a band there. She had nothing to lose, so she moved to Minneapolis! To make ends meet, she worked at a small music magazine and interviewed new artists. One of the new artists she met was CHANCE THE RAPPER before he was super famous!!!
