Celebrate Juneteenth with you friends and neighbors! Juneteenth is a celebration commemorating the day that slavery was abolished in the United States in 1865. There is an Iowa Juneteenth organization with the mission to educate Iowans on Juneteenth. Did you know that as of 2002, Juneteenth is an official observance in Iowa?
Like so many other events, the Iowa Juneteenth events have moved to a virtual space. Today is Health Day. You can log in and see workshops on veganism and yoga, among other things.
