Can you believe it has been 20 years since we were singing "I'm going down down baby....?!" June 24th marked the 20th anniversary of Nelly's diamond selling album Country Grammar. The album put St. Louis hip/hop on the map and ushered in the 2000s hip/hop era. Nelly paved the way for other St. Louis artists who had big Billboard hits like J-Kwon with "Tipsy," Chingy with "Right Thurr," "Holidae In" and "One Call Away," and the late Huey with "Pop, Lock and Drop It."
Earlier this month, Nelly performed an outdoor parking lot concert in his native St. Louis reuniting with most of his crew, the St. Lunatics.
This Saturday night, we will all be able to stream a 20th anniversary concert of Country Grammar. Nelly will perform the album in its entirety via MelodyVR or on You Tube. The show will stream live from LA starting at 8pm CT.
