Are we still pandemic baking? I guess I still am. Have you been to Wahlburger's? The former Hy-Vee Market Grills are now Wahlburger's at Hy-Vee, in addition to the fabulous restaurant in West Des Moines. What a great burger! I've been a fan of the Wahlberg men for as long as I can remember and, yes, I was on hand at the opening of the West Des Moines Wahlburger's! Whenever I have girlfriends that come visit, they always ask if I will take them to Wahlburgers!!! Of course, i'm always happy to oblige. Sometimes when I don't have anyone around, I still want to eat Wahlburgers, in those instances, I go to Hy-Vee and buy the Wahlburgers meat and make my own at home. But, what about their signature Alma's Favorite Macaroni Salad?? I had to dig up the recipe and make that for my solo indoor bbq over the weekend. If you're interested in dressing up your own home Wahlburgers, here is the recipe for Alma's Macaroni Salad:
Make one pound of elbow Macaroni according to package
When it's done cooking, chill it in cold water.
Add 2 tsps of Oil and toss
Add 3/4 cup of mayonnaise
Add in 1 tsp each of garlic powder and celery salt
Add 1/4 cup of diced green peppers
Add 1/4 cup of diced red peppers (optional)
Add 3 tablespoons of chopped red onion (optional)
Stir
Add 2 tablespoons of parsley (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Chill and then serve
