Netflix Announces Date For Series About Selena Quintanilla Perez

At long last, the Selena devotees have the answers they seek. The Netflix TV Series about the late Tejano Superstar Selena Quintanilla Perez will be out on December 4th!! Christian Serratos, best known for "The Walking Dead," will play Selena in "Selena: The Series." Selena's sister, Suzette Quintanilla will be on the Executive Producers on the series which will chronicle Selena's rise to fame from her humble beginnings to superstardom.

Selena was just 23 years old when she was shot to death by her fan club President, Yolanda Saldivar, in 1995. At the time of her death, she had won a Grammy and was just working on an English language crossover album. That album, Dreaming of You, was released in July of 1995 and broke a sales record with how fast it sold.

The legacy of Selena lives on. In 1997, Jennifer Lopez catapulted to fame playing Selena in the major motion picture, Selena. There have been two very successful M. A. C. make up lines inspired by Selena in recent years.
