If you've never had the inclination to move out of Des Moines, it's because it's pretty perfect. US News and World Report has released their list of the top cities to live in the US and Des Moines ranks at number 7 on the list. The magazine cited Des Moines for being a great place to raise a family with plenty to do with cultural events and festivals. Of course, it was mentioned that the people are nice. Although the metro area has 600,000 people, Des Moines has a small town feel.
The number one city on the list is Boulder, Colorado followed by Denver, Austin, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, Colorado rounding out the top five. Yes, four of the top five cities are cities in Colorado.
