Researchers at Purdue University believe they have created a white paint that could take the place of your air conditioner. This radiative white paint absorbs almost no solar energy and pushes heat away from the surface. Regular paint absorbs heat. They believe the radiative paint can act like a refrigerator and cool surfaces by 18 degrees Fahrenheit without using energy.
This paint, also, sends heat away from the Earth, instead of trapping it in the atmoshphere. This will help guard against Global Warming.
Not ready to paint everything white? The researchers are working on creating this heat shifting paint in other colors. Take a look at a You Tube video about this project.
