107.5 KISS FM Kitchen: Turkey Veggie Hash Brown Quiche


Cue the Madonna "Hoooolllliddaaaay! Ceeeellllebrate!" One of the best parts of the holidaze is baking!!!! Our friends at the Iowa Egg Council have an online holiday cookbook full of delicious and nutritious holiday recipes!!! For the next four weeks, I will share some recipes from their cookbook with you. The first recipe makes great use of our leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Get it out of the freezer and make yourself a delicious Turkey Vegetable Hash Brown Quiche!!!

From my kitchen to yours, here is my tutorial on how to make Turkey Veggie Hash Brown Quiche!

Ingredients:

Crust:

1 large egg

2 cups of defrosted frozen shredded hasbrowns

Quiche:

5 large eggs

1 cup milk

2 cups of frozen (defrosted) vegetable blend

1/2 cup diced turkey (or chicken)

1/2 teaspoon salk

2 tablespoons of almonds

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. For the crust, beat 1 large egg and salt in medium bowl. Add hash browns. Mix well. Press into bottom of greased 9 inch pie plate. Bake for 5 minutes.

Spread vegetables in cooked hash brown crust. Top with turkey. Beat 5 eggs, milk, 1/2 teaspoon of salt in mixing bowl. Pour over Vegetables and turkey. Sprinkle with almonds.

Bake in center of oven for 45 minutes or until knife inserted in the center of the quiche comes out clean and the center jiggles slightly when shaken. Enjoy!
