There are few things I love more than hot air balloons!!! You think January, downtown Des Moines, and you probably wouldn't think about hot air balloons. Wrong! The Greater Des Moines Partnership has come up with a great idea to help businesses in downtown Des Moines!! The weekends of January 22 and January 29, they will be sending out clues on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as to where hot air balloons will be illuminated.
Hot air balloons were lit up near the Capitol, the Science Center and other downtown Des Moines spots last night. Unfortunately, due to weather, the hot air balloons will not be out tonight, Saturday, January 23rd.
However, you can check the Downtown Des Moines social media accounts next weekend for clues as to where the balloons will be lit up! You're encouraged to take pictures and post on social media when you see the balloons with #DSMlocal and #downtownDSM. Happy hunting!
