Woodworking With A Purpose is a non-profit organization that was started during the pandemic by a teacher in Ankeny. Nate Evans noticed that not all of his students had good working spaces at home to complete their schooling. He made it his mission to build desks for kids that needed them. The donations started to pour in and the volunteers signed up to help. The incredible work is getting some national publicity this week. Woodworking With a Purpose will be interviewed by CBS news via Zoom on Wednesday. The organization will appear on the Doctors this Friday, February 26th at 3pm on We Are Iowa Local 5 News.
