There is a war brewing between Gen Z and, well, everyone else. Ok, Boomer. Passive Gen X. Millennials. Gen Z is coming for things near and dear to all previous living generations. The latest victim of this Gen Z hate is Eminem.
Years after the song was released, Gen Z decided to try to cancel Emienm over a lyric from the Eminem and Rihanna collaboration "Love The Way You Lie." Remember the line "If she ever tries to leave again, i'm gonna (expletive) tie her to the bed and set this house on fire?" This is the line that created the angst. While the content of the lyric is graphic and unconscionable, it was art and not an advocation by Eminem of domestic violence. It was part of his story telling, which is what hip/hop does, tells stories. Is that next on the list to be cancelled?
