I have high hopes for the cheeseburger I ordered for the Mooby's pop up coming to Up/Down in East Village! Director Kevin Smith (Chasing Amy, Clerks, Dogma) uses a fictional restaurant, Mooby's in his films. It's a hangout for characters Jay and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith). Kevin decided that it would be fun to bring a real Mooby's to cities around the country. Des Moines if fortunate enough to get the Mooby's pop up at Up/Down from March 31 - April 7th. Tickets have to be sold in advance and they're selling quickly. I logged in this afternoon and only off-peak times were available for March 31st. You get a choice of a Moo Main and a Salt Lick Side for $29. Yes. $29. You're paying for the experience. The Moo Mains are a burger, a chicken Sandwich, a Vegan Brat and a Beyond Burger. The Salt Lick sides are Onion Rings and Hater Totz.
