Even though this was a weird year, there still will be an Oscars ceremony this Sunday. If you're like me, a lot of times, i'm not completely familiar with every movie up for an Academy Award. If you want to do a little catching up before Sunday's ceremony, Netflix has a collection of nominated films for you to check out.
Last night, I was scrolling and, in the collection, came across "A Love Song for Latasha." It was a documentary done in the style of a podcast set to a visual. It was about the death of 15 year old Latasha Harlins in South Central Los Angeles on March 16, 1991. She was 15 and it was the precursor to the LA Riots in 1992. 19 minutes. I highly recommend, especially as we continue to fight for racial justice in America.
