Psychology Today interviewed some therapists on the subject of the L word. Who should say "I Love You" first? What if no one is ready to say it? How soon should it be out there?
Well.... first of all, if you want to keep control in the relationship, you should NOT be the one to say it. However, we all know that the most successful relationships have an equal balance, so you should be at the same stage when the time is right to say those words.
When? Psychologists agree that about six months into a relationship, I LOVE YOU should be established. If not, well, you just might be wasting your time.
And this is interesting and maybe surprising, it's men that say "I Love You" first more often than not. Men usually are ready to say it about six weeks faster than women.
