On your mark, get set, SHOP! Starting this Friday at midnight, you can make certain back to school purchases without having to pay Iowa's 6% to 7% sales tax. Everything included in Tax-Free weekend must be purchases before 11:59pm on Sunday. You can even purchase from online retailers that charges Iowa state sales tax, tax-free. If the retailer does charge you sales tax, and it's an eligible item, the state will reimburse you.
