The last time I bought bacon, I thought the price was pretty steep. I just chalked it up to me not paying attention to the price. Well, it turns out, bacon prices have gone up 28% over last year! Yikes! And yes, you can blame COVID. The demand never changed, in fact, it increased with more people eating at home. However, a lot of pork production plants had major shutdowns because of COVID. Unfortunately for the bacon lovers, the price is not expected to come down anytime soon.
The price of bacon is at a 40 year high right now.
