The Dictionary Has Added 455 New Words

Okay, okay, in 2021, the Dictionary isn't what it once was. But, even still, Merriam-Webster still exists and still adds words. 455 new words reflecting our changing times have been added this year. Some of the words are reflective of the pandemic like "Vaccine Passport," and "Super Spreader." Other words may have had to do with the pandemic like "Curbside Delivery" and "Dad Bod."

Also being added are online abbreviations like "TBH (to be honest)," and "amirite."

The preposition BECAUSE has a new definition, it claims that because is now versatile. It acknowledges that "because of" has been replaced, sometimes, with, simply, because. For example "Vaccines work because science."
