Des Moines Haunted Harry Potter House Raises Money For Salvation Army

Did you stop by the Haunted Hogwarts display on Des Moines' Northeastside for Halloween? Thousands lined up to take a look at the display created by John and Sandy Selby. Sandy told KCCI she had only seen one of the Harry Potter movies before their labor of love began. It's become a tradition and months of work on the final product.

John Selby says he likes the fact that families that don't have a lot of money have a nice, safe, fun free Halloween activity to do. The Selby's did leave room for onlookers to donate, and the generous hearts of Des Moines gave. The $3,500 the Selby's collected for the Halloween display will be donated to the Salvation Army! Good job, Des Moines!
