Cold blooded!!! Last Wednesday, the CEO of Better.com, a mortgage company, called 900 employees to a ZOOM call. During the call he informed the 900 employees, which make up nine percent of Better.com's entire company, that they were "part of the unlucky group that is being laid off. Your employment is terminated effective immediately."
He finished the call by, emotionlessly stating that HR would be in touch with their benefits and severance information.
So, I guess the moral of this story is not to trip if you're employer doesn't give you a Christmas gift or holiday bonus, things could be much worse.
