Randall Kaplan's life work is analyzing beach vacations. He's released his list of the best American beaches for this year.
Topping the list is South Beach, Miami, followed by Cannon Beach in Oregon, Venice Beach in California, Waikiki Beach in Hawaii and Clearwater Beach, Florida.
Shout out to the Midwest. My favorite beach is the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Northern Michigan. I vacation there as much as I can over the Summer. It ranks number 7 on the list.
The Gulf Shores ranked number 10 on the list.
