Des Moines High School Students Walk Out Over Transgender Athlete Bill

Around noon today, an estimated over 100 students walked out of Central Academy just west of Downtown Des Moines. The students were protesting the signing of a bill that bans transgender women from competing in high school athletics. The students were headed West down Grand to the Governor's mansion to protest Govenor Reynolds signing the bill.

KCCI was live as students were leaving the building and reported that Des Moines Public Schools were honoring the students right to protest.
