For some reason, I take the Farmer's Almanac more seriously in Iowa than the predictions for other places. The Farmer's Almanac is predicting that we will have the hottest days in early and late June and early - Mid July. I don't necessarily think they are correct about early June because if you look at the seven day forecast, we are pretty mild.
The National Weather Service is in agreement with the Farmer's Almanac. Yesterday, a warning was sent out that electric companies in Iowa may experience rolling blackouts this Summer.
The good news? Temperatures aren't predicted to be excessively hot during the Iowa State Fair.
