Shirley Hodes is 106, her little sister, Ruth is 102. The two of them would agree that they have lived long, happy lives. As old is the goal, they kindly have offered up some tips on how to live a long, health life. For this week's Monday Motivation Minute, let's look at their tips on living a long, healthy life!
They both agree that family is important, they speak on the phone three times per week. They would agree that having love in your life can lead to a long, vibrant life.
They both, even to this day, over 100 years old, try to take daily walks. They say getting steps in is very important to staying active.
To keep your mind sharp, they both agree that reading is important. They both grew up reading and agree that if you like to read, you'll never be lonely.
They both follow a moderate diet with no smoking and no drinking. They try to limit sweets. Shirley tries to stay away from animal fats and drinks skim milk, but will enjoy a little ice cream after dinner.
Keep a positive attitude. Neither sister looks back at regrets, they try to live in the now with a positive attitude.
